Frequently Asked Questions — EARMOR® Ear Protection South Africa
What is the best EARMOR® model for hunting in South Africa?
The EARMOR® M300T Bluetooth or M31 PLUS are the most popular choices for South African hunters. Both suppress harmful gunshot noise while amplifying ambient sounds — allowing you to hear animal movement and communicate with your hunting party without removing your ear protection.
What is the difference between EARMOR® M31 PLUS and M32 PLUS?
The M32 PLUS includes a detachable ambidextrous boom microphone and EMI/RFI shielding for communication-enabled applications. The M31 PLUS is a clean electronic hearing protector without a boom mic — ideal for range shooting and hunting where a microphone is not required.
Does the EARMOR® M300T have Bluetooth?
Yes. The EARMOR® M300T features Bluetooth connectivity for wireless audio streaming and communication, in addition to its automatic electronic noise cancellation.
Are EARMOR® products water resistant?
The EARMOR® M31 PLUS and M32 PLUS are rated IPX-5 water resistant — meaning they can handle rain and field conditions. Always check the specific model specification for water resistance ratings.
What is the difference between electronic and passive hearing protection?
Electronic hearing protection uses active sound processing to suppress dangerous noise above a set threshold while amplifying ambient sounds — allowing normal communication and situational awareness. Passive hearing protection reduces all sound by a fixed NRR rating without amplification.

Yes. The full EARMOR® hearing protection range is available in South Africa through AST Ballistics, including the M300T Bluetooth, M31 PLUS, M32 PLUS, M20 earbuds, M20T PRO Bluetooth earbuds, and M300L passive earmuffs.
